Ariana Grande had some big plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her Yours Truly album. The pop star and actor went on social media on August 19th to announce a week of surprises in celebration of her 2013 debut album, which was an amazing success and got to No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The week was busy and truly eventful.
Ariana Grande Celebrates Yours Truly
The social media in question was Instagram, and Ariana Grande made a video post there featuring a mix of past and present footage. The singer and actor revealed that the rollout was set for August 25th, and the surprise was a deluxe digital release of Yours Truly. It comes along with some freshly recorded live performances of “Honeymoon Avenue” and “Daydreamin’”.
On August 26th, Ariana Grande dropped the first part of a Q&A with a merch capsule. That was followed by a live performance of “Baby I” on August 27th. The celebration continued on August 28th when a special Yours Truly vinyl picture disc was made available, together with the second part of the Q&A. On August 29th, Grande brought to her fans two more live performances of “Tattooed Heart” and “Right There”.
It Was an Eventful Week
The celebration concluded on August 30th, the date of the release anniversary of Yours Truly. It features a live performance of “The Way” and behind-the-scenes footage. Grande had also specified on her Instagram Stories that the deluxe digital release of Yours Truly will have the updated versions of the songs that she had performed from the album during her Live From London performance. The singer and actor also shared that it was a healing and special project for her to do.
Released on August 30th, 2013, Yours Truly was the proper introduction of Ariana Grande to the world. Until then, she had only been familiar to viewers of Nickelodeon’s Victorious, Sam & Cat, and Broadway’s 13.
