Jason Derulo admitted that he had been contemplating giving up on his iconic introduction in the past. During an interview on Good Morning America, he shared that people constantly asking him to sing their names had all become “too much” for him. Luckily, a TikTok trend persuaded him to stick with his trademark. Apparently, fans were so determined to bring the “Jason Derulo” back that the singer just couldn’t leave it behind.
Why Derulo Sings His Own Name
The singer revealed the secret on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2020. He admitted that his hits were always bigger if he sang his name at the beginning. He also jokingly said that other artists should add his name to their song intros if they want to be successful.
